Diwali (Festival of lights) is one most popular Indian festivals and is spread over five days. Dev Diwali takes place fifteen days after Diwali on the occasion of Kartik Poornima. It is celebrated in a grand scale in Benares.  The riverfronts of the Ganges are lit with more than a million earthen lamps in honor of Ganga. It is a spectacular sight not to be missed. According to the beliefs, the god are believed to descend to Earth to bathe in river Ganges on this pious day.

Holi - festival of colors - celebrated in (February-March), is the spring festival of India. On the day of the festival people play joyfully with colored water (rang) and powder (Gulal). These are traditionally made from sweet-smelling flowers of the season.
Many legends attached to this festival. But a significant aspect is that old hostilities are forgotten, forgiven and washed out this day, as people sprinkle colored water, share sweets and sing songs together.

Sonpur Cattle Fair is held in November on full moon day on the confluence of river Ganges and Gandak. This one of its kind event, organized near Patna – the capital of Bihar, is the biggest cattle fair in Asia and world’s largest animal fair. Along with large line of elephants, all breeds of buffaloes, donkeys, ponies and numerous birds are also available for sale.

Pushkar Camel Fair is one of the world’s largest camel fairs, held (October-November) in the oldest city of Pushkar in Rajasthan. The biggest fair of Rajasthan is organized on the banks of the Pushkar Lake. A unique competition like boasting of the longest mustache is one of the added attractions. You can also enjoy Hot air balloon rides at the site.
